Fishing around the cold fronts is the key to making a great day!  The fishing out of the Gandy area has been on fire!  Trout in the 17-24 inch class  and multiple slot redfish being released as well as those over 27 inches.  The smaller redfish are also easy pickings with a 1/8th oz jig and a piece of shrimp slowly moved along the channel edges and drop offs!

The Snook bite has been on fire with whitebait readily available to the hard working individual! If you want to pull off a slam of Redfish, Snook and Trout – it is a high probability on the right days with stable weather conditions!  Flounder are in the deep holes and can be picked up on artificial as well as shrimp tipped jigs.

The jacks and lady fish have been loaded up in some of the holes around Tampa bay.  The sheepshead are on the rock piles along the channel edges but the (Out of Season) grouper sometimes win out in the aggressiveness column making it hard to get to the tasty sheepshead waiting below!

Snapper are abundant all around the bay and are easy pickings in crystal clear water!  We have been picking up a mixed bag on the snapper holes including black drum, sea bass, grouper, porgy and grunts.

As the water warms in I have been getting into the small bull sharks, the larger versions are hard to stop on light tackle but provide a good bit of excitement.  Tarpon are where they usually are and allow for a few opportunities during a 6 hour fishing charters Tampa bay.   A highlight has been the availability of Permit in certain spots around Tampa at the right time!   A few Pompano to round out the mix and they make a very nice surprise for anyone looking for a memorable experience!  Outgoing tides have been good at the warmer spots in Tampa but the incoming tides coming off the negative lows have been most spectacular!
