We spent Sunday afternoon fishing the Anclote area with Captain Jeff and some friends. Capt. Jeff got out early and battled through windy, rough conditions to get enough bait for the day. We hopped aboard the boat and idled out of the river. We had Cobia on our minds but with the wind up and a moderate chop on the water, it made it hard to spot cruising fish. We ran back into the river in search of Redfish and calmer water.
Shortly after we pulled up to one of Capt. Jeff’s secret spots, it was on! Everyone was getting in on the action including the girls. We ended up with a few Ladyfish and several nice Reds, all of which were over the slot but one. As our arms got tired our bellies got hungry and we decided to make our last spot of the day Capt. Jacks Bar and Grill right on the river. We filled up on good food and cold drinks and we all headed home. It was great to spend a day with friends, catching fish and enjoying the outdoors. The weather right now is about as good as it gets, so get out there and enjoy the Florida lifestyle.
Tight Lines!
